Hi! I’m Dr. Rakhel Shapiro. I’m really looking forward to getting to know you!

I’m a clinical psychologist (PhD) and IFS therapist. I’m also a meditation facilitator, writer, and movement artist. I specialize in helping people clarify desire, build self-trust, and heal developmental wounds.

My work integrates therapy modalities, and a deep respect for creativity and inner wisdom. Many of my clients are thoughtful, introspective people who want to live more authentically and creatively.

I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) and relational approaches to help you:

  • Develop a grounded, compassionate relationship with yourself

  • Understand and unburden protective patterns like people-pleasing, self-denial, and feeling outsized responsibility

  • Heal trauma from past relationships — in childhood and adulthood

  • Experience more intimacy and connection with yourself and others

  • Reconnect with desire, pleasure, and authentic motivation

  • Support creative and visionary parts of you

  • Build a felt sense of safety and self-trust

This is about helping you listen to and trust yourself more fully, so you can live more fully

A free, no pressure conversation to explore if we’re a good fit

Many people struggle to know what they truly want, trust their inner voice, or prioritize their own needs. You might notice people-pleasing, self-doubt, or disconnection from your desires — even after years of growth or therapy.

This work helps you listen inward, build self-trust, and unburden the parts of you that learned it wasn’t safe to be who you are or want what you want.

Therapy for people who want to feel more grounded, connected to their desires, and free to pursue a life that feels meaningful, connected, creative, and free.

You may be a good fit for this work if you:

  • Long for a deeper sense of inner security and grounding

  • Want to heal developmental or attachment trauma

  • Struggle to know — or trust — what you want or what brings you pleasure

  • Tend to people-please or override your own needs

  • Want support pursuing creative or artist parts of yourself

  • Want a therapist who understands your meditation practice

  • Want a sex-positive, pleasure-positive therapist

  • Have done personal growth work but still feel something is stuck or unresolved, or like you aren’t living fully

Clients often leave this work with:

  • Greater clarity about what they want

  • A deeper sense of understanding and compassion for themselves

  • More intimacy and satisfaction in their relationships

  • More permission to pursue pleasure and meaning

  • Reduced shame around desires and needs

  • Stronger boundaries and self-advocacy

  • A deeper sense of inner security

  • Renewed creativity and aliveness
